On the left bank, near the Pont de l'Alma, five small floating islands, interconnected, provide a pleasant moment for rest, reading, games or a simple walk along the river to contemplate its charms even more.
Named “Jardins de l'Archipel des Berges de Seine Niki-de-Saint-Phalle”, in a special tribute to the French sculptor, painter, model and filmmaker Niki de Saint Phale.
All spaces are fully accessible to people with disabilities and open throughout the day – some hours may vary depending on the seasons.
Each island has specific vegetation, all typical of the Seine region and its surroundings; thus, the local fauna is also privileged. The help of this biodiversity, which recreates the natural habitat of several species, reinforces the ecological continuity of the area.

Nothing is by chance... Where we don't really understand the meaning, there's always a beautiful explanation. Almost two-thirds of the island is dedicated to birds with a glassed-in structure (“an aviary”? or is it a “greenhouse”?) and a vastly planted area with no access to the public... And where are the birds? They're outside, of course, as they should be. We just went in there to watch them. The vegetation is specially cared for to attract them, let them make their nests in the bushes and feed without being frightened by visitors.
L'Île aux Oiseaux
Tall grass, wildflowers and rustic rope hammocks make you feel like you're in a country setting, far from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.
For children it is a lot of fun, they often balance themselves or crawl through the hammock. Adults rest, read, talk, date or just observe the landscape...
L'Ile Prairie
The central island is the main entry point for the small archipelago. It is the place where the vegetation is scarcer. Just a few trees to shade the more “urban” space of the garden, where you can admire the river up close.
L'Ile Centrale
On the “orchard island”, apple trees, flowers and low grass bring us a surprise every season of the year.
In the shade of the trees, wooden benches are a great place to have a snack, play or just relax.
On the grass, spread out a towel and relax in the sun is also a good option.
L'Ile Verger
Several wooden sun loungers – for two – are the “high point” of the island, which, because it is at the tip and not planted in the front, offers a beautiful view of the Seine and surroundings. Next time I'll bring a binoculars!
Sometimes, a mist forms among the vegetation, hence the name “island of mists”
